The Mahr/Jennings cabin is in danger of collapse due to the sod roof caving in. In 1906 F.D. Jennings proved up his homestead along the banks of the Clark's Fork River near the Jim Bridger Trail crossing. Some of his notable friends and visitors were Buffalo Bill, O.P. Hanna - manage of the Wild West Show, Chief Plenty Coups and George Town - trapper and early founding settler of Stringtown/Bridger.
Amongst other later property owners, the historic Mahr family was one of the last to inhabit the cabin, adding their own wild-west history to this site. The Bridger Historical Society is collaborating with Fish Wildlife and Parks to make this site a visitable preserved cabin of the true wild west that was Bridger's early history.
Discussion of the Teesdale Home Restoration to assess any environmental impact.
